In Practice

"We opened No More Cafe in April 2024. Private events started because people kept asking if they could take the place over for the night."
This is not our main business, and we are not a dedicated event space. We are a working cafe most days. But a few times a month, we close early and hand the whole room over to a brand, a production, or a family. Every inquiry comes straight to me or my team, and we reply personally within a couple of hours.

Frequently Asked.
What are the hourly rates and minimum booking times?
All rentals have a 3-hour minimum. Rates are $350 per hour before 5pm and $450 per hour after 5pm. The Gathering adds a staff member behind the bar. The Ritual adds a staff member behind the bar and a minimum spend of $150 per hour before 5pm and $300 per hour after, which everything your guests order counts toward. Full takeover days are $4,000.
Can I bring in outside catering and my own alcohol?
Yes, with The Gathering package. Outside catering and BYOB are both permitted, and our bartender serves your drinks.
Can I bring my own bartender?
No. For liability reasons, anyone working behind our bar has to be our staff. Every Gathering includes our bartender.
How many guests can the space hold?
75 standing, 45 seated. For events with staggered arrivals, the total guest list can be higher. Tell us how your event is structured and we will walk through what works.
Where is No More Cafe and how is the load-in?
352 East 13th Street, between First and Second Avenue. Load-in is street level, no stairs. Closest trains: L at First Avenue, 6 at Astor Place.
Can I bring a DJ?
Yes, DJs are welcome. We have speakers (aux and Bluetooth) and a microphone. Any other gear, including turntables, mixers, CDJs, and lighting, your DJ has to bring.
Is your venue available for corporate events and brand activations?
Yes, this is one of the most common ways the space gets used. Brands book us for launches, tastings, press events, offsites, and team gatherings. The Ritual package gives your guests our full NA menu and our team on a minimum spend, and Full Takeover gives you the whole room for a flat daily rate.
What equipment and amenities are included?
Every package includes house sound system with aux and Bluetooth, projector, vintage tuned piano, WiFi, restroom access, and all existing furniture and lighting. The Ritual and Full Takeover with service also include glassware, barware, and bar station setup.
How do I secure my date, and what deposit is required?
A signed agreement and a 50% deposit of the event fee, paid by Square invoice, secure your event date. The rest of the fee, including NYC sales tax, is due before your event starts. On The Ritual, the minimum spend is settled after the event.
Are there noise restrictions or a music cutoff?
We ask that music wind down by midnight out of respect for our East Village neighbors. Most events wrap between 10pm and midnight. If your event needs to run later, mention it in your inquiry and we will work it out.
Can I decorate the space?
Yes, with one rule: free-standing decor only. Flowers, signage on stands, balloons, and table settings are all welcome. We ask that you avoid tape, nails, or anything that damages walls, ceilings, or existing decor.
Is the venue accessible?
The entrance is street level with no stairs. The space is a single open floor with accessible restroom facilities. If your event has specific accessibility needs, mention them in your inquiry and we will make sure everything is set up for your guests.
What taxes and fees apply?
NYC sales tax of 8.875% is added at invoicing. There are no hidden service fees and no surprises at checkout.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations 7 to 30 days before the event receive 50% of the deposit back. Within 7 days, the deposit is non-refundable. We are flexible for extraordinary circumstances and will work with you in good faith if things change.
Can I schedule a site visit before booking?
Yes, always. We offer walkthroughs so you can see the East Village space, meet our team, and talk through logistics in person before you commit. Mention your preferred day and time in your inquiry and we will coordinate.
Can you help me find a photographer, musician, or other vendors?
Yes. We have a bench of photographers, musicians, DJs, florists, and caterers we trust. Tell us what you need and we will make introductions.

Great wfh spot with so much space and open super late! I got the dulce and stupidly forgot to say iced (also mind you I was already sweaty when I walked in because it is so hot and humid here). Anyways the guy was so nice telling me about how it's his favorite drink that I didn't say anything because it was my mistake. I drank it though and it was absolutely delicious. I tend to not like a lot of hot coffees, but this one was lovely. Probably because it was doused in caramel, but still very yummy! Would definitely go back to work here and/or even play board games since they got those too!

Stopped by looking for a place to nestle down and get some work done after a late appointment and was not disappointed. While I originally thought it was a regular bar the menu stated 0 proof meaning they were all alcohol free. While they were cocktails it were delicious. I got 2 and was not upset with what I ordered.
The space was well lit for work or studying, the bartender was friendly and informative. I was able to sit for 3 hours and get exactly what I needed done.
